Things Your Cat Will Never Use

I still remember the following day as if it was yesterday:

I was shopping for some cat food when I saw a gorgeous cat bed. It was soft, it had clean lines and the colour even matched my furniture. Finally, I can get my cat to sleep on something other than my fresh laundry pile.

I excitedly brought it home and set it up...and Sophie ignored it. She didn't even sniff it. Fine, I'll just pick her up and put her in it, she'll get the idea. Nope. She runs away from it as if I just put her on a hot stove. To this day, she has never slept in it, she doesn't even sit in it. Once upon a time, I tried rubbing cat nip on it and putting kitty treats in it. She actually picked up the treat from the bed and brought them out of the bed and ate them right by the bed. Yup. It now sits in storage, I will likely donate it to the local shelter one day.

Cat Toy Review

This is my first video review of a cat toy. My tester is of course, Sophie Lam!

The toy I tested is called Pawbreakers. It is a catnip ball.

I would give this to toy 4 paws out of 5! Sophie says so too...she is however pooped after all this work. Beer time!

Great video from the Animal Humane Society. As always, I encourage those who wish to find a companion to go to your local shelters, and rescue organizations first.

The animals in shelters or in rescue organizations are just as 'good' if not better than animals from the pet store or breeders. The reason animals are surrendered are many, but so often, it isn't the animal's fault.

If you do wish to purchase an animal, make sure you go to a reputable breeder and NEVER buy from a pet store. Many people have wrote about pet stores and puppy mills, so I am not going to get into it here. If you do want to find out more, you can check out this site.

Cat Lady

The label 'cat lady' has such negative connotations.  If you are a cat lady, you must have no friends or life and read harlequin romance novels all day long.  I am none of those.  Okay I am lying, I do read the occasional romance!

I just have a big heart and love all animals.   I am that weirdo that will walk up to any dog and start petting it ( I always ask for the permission from the owners first). 

I love my cat, Sophie.  Sure I talk about her a lot, take tons of photos and videos, and even blog about her.  But how is that different from someone who has a dog?! I really haven't heard a bad label (yet) for people who are obsessed with their dogs.

At any rate, I wear my cat lady badge with honour.  I love my cat, and if you think I am weird...I honestly don't care.
