Canucks Game 6

You know, no one said it would be easy.  That is why it's the playoffs, and that is why it takes 4 wins.

Personally I thought that Canucks should have won this game (no, no bias at all). Crawford gave a herculean effort and stopped everything in the 3rd and OT.

Our main issue is of course, goal tending.  An issue we thought we had solved earlier in the year.  However, Luongo continues to fight his inner demons while playing against the Blackhawks.  No doubt about it, he is rattled.
I personally loved that Corey Schneider got a chance to show us what he is capable of.  He made a couple of rookie mistakes while playing the puck (which resulted in two goals), but he stopped most of the shots and gave his team a chance to win.  He has a lot of potential and I hope we can keep him next couple of seasons (doubt it).

This was nowhere near the blowouts of Game 4 and 5.  The Canucks played hard and paid for it with bodies.
  1. Salo left mid game and didn't return for the rest of the game.  It remains to be seen if he will come back for Game 7.  Judging from his past history, I doubt it.  This man needs to drink more milk or something. Because seriously, he is a great d-man, but can he just go through one season without an injury?!
  2. Bieksa got shoved head first into the boards and was shaky afterwards, hopefully no concussion (no call).
  3. Schneider of course was hurt and could not finish the game.  Rumour has it Schneider had cramps late in the game.  Hopefully with some IVs and stretching, he'll be back for Game 7.
A few great things from the game:
  1. Burrows scored and got more into the offense
  2. Kesler continues to be a force and an emotional leader for the Canucks
  3. The Sedins looked and played better (better than Game 4 and 5 anyways)
  4. We can count on our backup goalie if we need him (when not injured)
  5. Canucks got back to playing the way that gave them success in Games 1-3
The question is, if both goalies can play, would you start Lou or Schneider in Game 7?  Furthermore, if we lose this series, is it time to get rid of Lou (ya ya I know, no trade clause, just hypothetically)?

On a side note: I am very relieved Nashville knocked out Anaheim last night.  The Canucks have had trouble playing Anaheim all season.  They are a much more physical team.  Not to say Nashville won't be a hard team to play against.  It's the playoffs, every team is hard to play against.  It is just the lesser of two evils, you know?  Oh, another reason I love Nashville, fun Mike Fisher/Mr. Underwood comments.  Who doesn't want that?!

One more thing.  I hate Alberts.  Why the $%^ is he playing?!  Alberts is slow and lazy and just can't keep up.  That is all.

I agree with everything but I believe the horrible officiating had a lot to do with the loss. Everyone's quick to blame it on goaltending, but last night, despite a couple errors, our goaltenders were solid. I could go on a huge rant about the officiating, but I won't. It just makes me think that the league doesn't want us to win. Why not? Beats me... I'm losing faith however that we can contend for the cup, but of course I hope my team will prove me wrong!
