I know I know, lame title. But I can't help but feel like equating job hunting to dating. I was chatting with a friend over msn one night, she was talking about her misadventures with online dating and I was talking mine with job hunting. We realized there are a few parallels.
1) Sometimes you like the guy/job, but they don't like you
2) Many times, after a going on a fantastic date/interview (or so you thought), they say they will call you back, but don't.
3) You gotta be ok with rejection (lots of it!)
4) You have to develop a thick skin and learn not to take things personally, even though it is super personal
5) Sometimes it is not about you - Sometimes the guy/job is looking for something specific, while you may be fantastic, you're just not what they are looking for (so lame, right?!)
